Brendan CroninHead of Management Consulting, Poyry Middle East
Brendan joined Pöyry in 2008 and is the head of management consulting for the Middle East. He focuses on managing teams which provide market analysis and strategic advice to organisations engaged in the Middle East energy sector. His recent projects include developing the framework for the new spot electricity market Oman, developing Abu Dhabi’s future capacity expansion plan and preparing a renewable market entry strategy for a government GCC entity. He has led advised on over 30GW of generation transactions and greenfield developments and across a wide range of technologies including CCGT, OCGT, coal, CCS, nuclear, wind and solar. Brendan’s insights on global energy markets are highly respected by clients and the wider industry. Brendan is regularly quoted in the trade and mainstream press in relation to oil and other energy market issues. He has been a member of the Irish Wind Energy Association's Markets Committee and EnergyUK’s European committee. Brendan is a Chartered Engineer and has a BE (1st Hons) in Chemical Engineering from UCD, an MPhil (with commendation) in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a Diploma in Economics from the LSE.
