Dr. Raman Nanda set up Softbank's India solar arm in 2015. 2 Gigawatts are currently in operation and under construction; this includes five of the World's 20 largest plants. Raman has been advising and helping manage SoftBank's global energy investments since it was first established in 2011. Ten years ago, in 2008, he set up his own solar company, e10Six, to develop grid-scale solar projects in India. Prior to this, Raman worked in New York, first at McKinsey & Co implementing strategic plans and restructuring operations for Fortune 100 companies. He joined Acumen Fund in 2005 as CFO, responsible for managing a 35-company investment portfolio across 8 countries at a time of rapid international expansion. Raman has a PhD from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. He is an avid triathlete.
